Because many diseases are heightened by stress, therapeutic massage can help a person become healthier and more resistant to disease. Massage helps with depression, anxiety, relaxation, sleep problems, and overall immune system.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Stimulates lymph fluid to flow through the lymphatic vessels. This technique helps to cleanse and detoxify the body. Congestion, water, and waste in the vessels create edema in the tissue. Edema is an unusual accumulation of fluid in soft tissues that can be temporary and mild or serious, as in chronic lymphedema. Moving this fluid out of the body with light massage movements will decrease the swelling from excess fluid. It is great before & after surgery because it expedites healing and enhances cell metabolism.
